HORSES taking part in one of the UK’s top equestrian events will be competing in comfort thanks to a Dorset company.
Parley-based Eco ComfyBed is supplying competitors at the Barbury Castle Horse Trials with free horse bedding.
The sponsorship package is expected to amount to more than 1,000 bales.
The horse bedding specialist is also sponsoring talented rider Emily Llewellyn who is taking part in the three day event from July 7 to 10.
Justin Dampney, Eco ComfyBed’s Business Development Manager, said: “We’re very excited to be involved in one of the UK’s top equestrian events. Barbury is always a great experience and is fast becoming a favourite for top riders and spectators.
“The fact that Emily is also taking part acts as the real icing on the cake as far as we’re concerned,” added Justin.
The Barbury Castle Horse Trials in Wiltshire attract riders from across the world.
Emily, 22, is the only rider to have ridden on eight consecutive youth European championship teams, winning eight gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
A regular at top events including the Badminton Horse Trials, she is also the only rider to have ever won collectively the Under 16, Under 18, Under 21 and Under 25 national championships.
Eco ComfyBed horse bedding is produced and manufactured specifically for horses from carefully selected white wood and is especially good for horses suffering from COPD as it’s virtually dust free.
Emily is among its biggest fans declaring: “It’s incredibly easy to muck out and we’ve really noticed the time we’ve saved. It almost makes mucking out enjoyable!”
ComfyBed is made from 100% recycled, seasoned soft wood fibres, ensuring easy mucking out and reduced wastage, with a smaller biodegradable muck heap.
Both Eco ComfyBed, and sister product Eco ComfyRide, are made by Parley-based Eco Sustainable Solutions, one of the UK’s top organics recycling firms.
